The 2025 SACSA Conference with NASPA Region III - The conference will take place from November 1-3 in the vibrant and historic city of Louisville, KY. As we celebrate our 75th conference, our theme, "Shining Bright: 75 Years of Brilliance, Reflection, and Strength," honors our rich history as an association while looking forward to a bold future. This milestone gathering will unite professionals dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and the ongoing empowerment of our students, colleagues, and communities.
Location - Louisville is changing perceptions of Southern destinations. This unique city combines heritage with innovation, authenticity with originality, and quirkiness with friendliness. It offers distinct sights, sounds, and flavors, including its official cocktail, the Old Fashioned, and the one-and-only Urban Bourbon Experience—a citywide adventure featuring distilleries, craft cocktail bars, and Bourbon attractions and exhibits.
Visitors can also explore iconic attractions that have long been part of Louisville’s charm, including the century-old Belle of Louisville, the Kentucky Derby Museum, and Churchill Downs—home of the Kentucky Derby. Other notable sites include the Muhammad Ali Center, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, the Kentucky Science Center, and the Louisville Mega Cavern, which is the world’s only location for underground zip-lining and mountain biking. Designed by Frederick L. Olmsted, the city’s park system adds to its appeal.
Louisville's culinary scene is thriving, earning recognition from various publications, including Travel + Leisure, Garden & Gun, Bon Appetit, Saveur, National Geographic, Southern Living, and many others, which have taken notice that the city has positioned itself as a foodie destination. Louisville was named “Best Up-and-coming Food City” by Thrillist, one of “America’s Best Cities for Food” by Travel + Leisure, and one of the “Nation’s Best Local Food Scenes” by USA Today. From farm-to-table to modernist cuisine and traditional country cooking, Louisville has a rich culinary offering.
