Foundation Board Members Celebrating 2024 Year in Review

Greetings SACSA,

The SACSA Foundation is committed to strengthening the core values of the Association and funding educational initiatives. As our Strategic Plan outlines, we worked this past year to fundraise, enhance our donor stewardship efforts, provide Board development, and increase our Foundation infrastructure.

Giving to the SACSA Foundation supports SACSA’s core values by funding research and educational initiatives like the Research Incentive Grant and Dissertation of the Year Award, celebrate achievement through awards and recognition like the Annual Case Study Competition, and supporting professional development through Joe Buck Travel Awards.

As you consider your 2024 year-end charitable giving, please include the SACSA Foundation in your plans.

You can donate at the following webpage: https://sacsa.org/pages/sacsa-foundation

I want to highlight some of the Foundation’s contributions to SACSA members through your giving:

  • The SACSA Foundation supported the Research Incentive Grants with $2,000 this year to help advance proposed assessment, evaluation, and research projects by SACSA members – and provided Dr. Genia Bettencourt, Dr. Kim Bullington, Carrier Carter, and Dr. Lauren Irwin each with $500.
  • The SACSA Foundation supported 35 travel awards of $300 each; totaling $10,500. These grants were specifically designated for SACSA members who needed financial support to attend the Annual Conference.
  • The SACSA Foundation provided $750 in support of the Dissertation of the Year recipient, Dr. Wanda Johnson.
  • At the Annual Conference in Charlotte, NC the SACSA Foundation provided financial support to the Annual Case Study competition winners. Congratulations to the Annual Case Study competition award winners:
    • 1st place ($300 split between winners)- Xavier Williams and Duval McCoy
    • 2nd place ($200 split between winners)- Rebecca Osborne and Seth Lasher
    • 3rd place ($150 split between winners)- Ellie MacMillian and Kate Campbell

Many thanks to each of you who gave at the Annual Conference in Charlotte, NC. We raised over $8,000 through conference giving and proceeds from the Silent Auction.

During the 2nd year of the Gavel and Gravel Society, over $12,000 was raised in recognition of our honorees who have demonstrated a profound commitment to advancing student affairs and higher education, showcasing a dedication that aligns seamlessly with the core values and mission of the SACSA Foundation. Congratulations to Dr. Ann Bailey, Dr. Suzanne Gordon, Dr. Deb Kladivko, Dr. Ellen Neufeldt, Dr. Melissa Shivers, and Dr. Daisy Waryold.

Thank you for your continued support for the SACSA Foundation, and please continue to pay it forward so that others can have the experience of SACSA time. Your donations matter.

Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing Winter Break!
