Greetings, SACSA Family,

This year marks 12 years as a proud SACSA member. My journey started as a junior at Old Dominion University (Go Monarchs!), where mentors like Dr. Don Stansberry and Dr. Ellen Neufeldt helped shape not only my path into student affairs, but how I show up in this work. From early on, they instilled in me the importance of mentorship, sponsorship, and paying it forward.

Now serving as Vice President for Marketing, and after years of involvement as Conference Chair, Foundation Board Trustee, and in various leadership roles across SACSA, I continue to reflect on just how transformative this association has been for me.

Last April, I shared a vision centered on clarity, consistency, and elevation. Over the past year, I’ve been focused on turning that vision into something real, structured, and sustainable.

We built the foundation:

  • A comprehensive marketing and communications strategy
  • A stronger, more intentional Marketing Leadership Team and committee structure
  • A centralized resource hub to make engagement easier for our members
  • A more consistent and elevated visual identity across SACSA platforms

And we’re seeing that work show up:

To me, these numbers matter because they reflect something bigger — we are showing up more clearly, more consistently, and in a way that better represents who SACSA is.

And I want to say this directly, because it matters to me.

Any compliment or recognition that comes my way for this work, I almost immediately redirect to my team. They have not only matched my energy, they have exceeded it in ways I could not have imagined.

Alongside their committee members, they are the reason this work is as strong as it is. We are a better, stronger association because of what they bring to the table every day. I am inspired by them. They make me better.

As I look ahead, my focus is on continuing to elevate this work.

That means being more intentional about how we tell our stories, using data to guide decisions, and continuing to raise the standard of what SACSA’s brand and communications look like.

And if you know me, you know this — I am my biggest motivator and my biggest competitor. I’m always asking how we can do this better, smarter, and with more impact. That mindset is what will continue to push this work forward.

SACSA is filled with incredible professionals doing meaningful work across our region. My goal is simple: to make sure how we communicate reflects the importance and impact of SACSA. Thank you for your continued support, trust, and engagement. I’m excited for what we will continue to build together.

I look forward to working alongside each of you, as a member, committee member, or leader in SACSA! In fact, I hope to see each of you in Greenville, SC, at our 2026 SACSA Annual Conference with NASPA Region III in November 2026!
