I'm sure many of you have heard the heartbreaking news out of Florida State University. On April 17, a tragic shooting took place on campus, leaving the FSU community reeling from loss, pain, and shock.
My heart goes out to the Florida State University community and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. SACSA stands in solidarity with you during this incredibly difficult time. We mourn the loss of life and offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were senselessly taken. We also extend our support to the survivors, the first responders, and the entire FSU family as you navigate the pain and trauma of this event.
In times of crisis, the dedication and compassion of student affairs professionals truly shine. You are the backbone for students, providing crucial guidance, care, and resources as they grapple with shock, grief, and uncertainty. Your commitment to fostering healing and resilience within the campus community is invaluable, and we recognize the immense responsibility you carry during such challenging moments. Please know that the SACSA community is here to offer any support we can in the days and weeks ahead.
