Learn about the Foundation

The SACSA Foundation strives to support the Association through funds raised by generous donors. Over the last few years, your generous contributions help the Association strengthen our core values and fund educational initiatives, such as the Dissertation of the Year Award and the Research Incentive Grant, along with establishing an endowment to enhance the financial stability of the Association. Additionally, donations enable the Association to celebrate achievement through awards and recognition; support research and professional development; and honor our history.

If you are a first-time SACSA attendee or a lifetime member, we humbly ask that you stand with us and consider making a contribution to the Foundation today. Your contributions will help not only help support current members, but support the future of the Association and all that we hope to achieve. Remember that all donations are tax-deductible since the SACSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Foundation Supporting SACSA

Here are some examples of how the Foundation supports SACSA and its members:

Research Incentive Grant:

SACSA encourages scholarly inquiry among its membership by annually awarding small grants to advance proposed research projects. Any individual or research team may apply for these competitive grants. The average award granted a single project is $500. However, the selection committee may choose to award funds in excess of this amount to grant proposals they feel are exceptional. Multiple research grants may be awarded.

Association Initiatives:

The Foundation’s sole purpose is to support the work of the association. Each year, the executive council proposes a budget that is reflective of the initiatives proposed by the association’s committees and in direct support of the association’s strategic plan.

Case Study:

Each year at the conference the foundation funds a case study competition for graduate students.

Joe Buck Travel Grant:

The Foundation provides Funds for our members who need support to attend the annual conference.

Dissertation of the Year:

The Southern Association for College Student Affairs presents an annual Dissertation of the Year Award (DOY) to recognize high-quality student affairs research by doctoral students in the SACSA region.
